Justin Hartley - Gemini Division And Smallville

On Gemini Division

Tony Tellado: "That's a challenge with the virtual sets for Gemini Division. "

Justin Hartley: "That's the whole thing of it. You have to just imagine which is great. It's fun but still a little exhausting after a while. You're imaging the things that they will put there in the future.

Tony: The bad part is that you are in Paris but you're not really there.

Justin: That's the bad part. I've done a few a green screen things before but never 100% green screen before like this. I've done things before where you read the script and you get an idea what it's about. It's going to be this big, this wide. It's going to be very scary. It's going to come straight towards your face and your'e going to scream when it comes towards your face with the big teeth. You shoot the thing. You freak out. You hit the floor. You panic. Three months later when you see it. It's like an eight ounce bat coming at your face and you look like a fool when you're diving on the ground. On Gemini, they definately had in mind what they were going to show."

"At first I thought the idea was to try to make it look real. Now it's kind of like the feel of the show. It's a very artsy looking show. I don't think that it's about making it look real. It's about the feel of the show that they were going for. It's kind of comic booky looking."

Tony Tellado: I think it has a graphic novel kind of look to it.

Justin: Exactly.

"This is an interesting format to see what a response to a show is without dumping ten to fifteen or twenty million dollars into a pilot and three episodes. You produce a whole entire webseries and see the response. Based on that you decide if you want to go to series. I don't think it will replace television. There will always be television. But It is a really cool format."

" It was rush, rush, rush a lot of the way through. I was working on something else. Rosario Dawson was working on something else. It was a matter of when are you available. Get there and do this. Rosario is a lovely person. We didn't have the chance to take meetings outside the set and talk about. The first day was a few intimate scenes and from there on out it was easy."

On Oliver's arc with Erica Durrance's Lois Lane on Smallville

"That was one of my favorite things that they wrote. That was my favorite part of the show so far that whole thing that they wrote about Oliver and Lois."

On the changes in the producers on Smallville

"The good thing is that we have James Marshall as the show runner up in Vancouver and he's there. This guy has the most amazing eye for detail. He's really built to do what he's doing. Everyone else is in LA anyway. We still have the same base up in Vancouver which is nice."

On The Oliver and Green Arrow's Turn in Season Eight

"There's a whole arc where Oliver starts reeling a little bit. He makes a list in his brain about the pros and cons. He realizes everything that he's given up to be Green Arrow may or may not be worth it. He starts a whole downward spiral thing. Before when it was everyone trying to kick Clark in the pants going come on come on. Now you have Clark is coaxing him out of his depression where he abandons Green Arrow and doesn't do anything. He just wants to party and drink. It's odd you have the one guy who's been in the costume is now running away from the costume and the one guy who's never put the costume on, Clark, is now starting to think, Hey, maybe I should embrace my destiny more. Green Arrow comes on the show does the super hero stuff and now is running away from it."
