What a Weekend!

I had an incredible weekend. On Saturday night, Mary Ann, Fractalsphere, Karen, Nupi and several other members of chicago-sf.org threw a party for me at Chicago hookah bar Sigara to celebrate my 36th birthday. (Though I prefer to tell people that I'm 18 for the second time.) It's a great little place with an Indian flair, including a belly dancer who came out about 11:15 pm. Since it was my birthday, she pulled me up to dance with her which was a lot of fun. And, yes, there are pictures, which will be posted once I have them. They brought a big chocolate cake (my favorite) and everything. It was a great time and I can't thank any of you enough for it.

Sunday was my actually birthday. I spent the afternoon at my parents' house where mom made roast beef and mashed potatoes for lunch, which was delicious. I then spent the evening at Second City with my really good friend, Tracy. The show was called "No Country for Old White Men" and it had us rolling on the floor with laughter. We ordered ice cream sundaes and took home souvenir glasses. But before going home, we walked down the street to a place called The Fudge Pot. It's a store that makes all kinds of chocolate goodies, and Tracy, knowing what a chocoholic I am, took me down to pick something out. I then made sure she got back to her place before saying goodnight.

It was definitely one of the best weekends I've had in a long time and makes me grateful to have the kind of friends I do. Thank you all for enriching my life and making my latest birthday so much fun!
